Location history

Esena Gardens has a rich history. In 16th and 17th centuries it housed the residence of Riga City councilmen. It was called the Dreiling or the Gothan Manor. In 18th century, Imanuel Just Esen, pastor of the Riga Dome Church, became the owner of the manor, so it was renamed to Esen Manor. At the turn of 19th and 20th centuries, the manor became property of a rich Russian trader, Popov. During Soviet years, the territory was state-owned, but in 1995 Popov's heirs regained the beautiful land property and the manor.
